Halian Post System - An Innovative Signage Solution
Halian, a division of the award winning John Young Group, designs and manufactures some of the most eye catching post signs and mow-over post systems in Scotland.
Inspired by the American real estate signage and now widely used on golf courses, the Halian Post System is neat, stylish and easy to install and maintain.
In the early years of the development of the Halian Post System, the team, led by signage pioneer John Young, have worked tirelessly to research and develop all of the necessary skills and tools needed to create this immensely durable and highly innovative approach to signage.
The result of the research has been a unique modular assembly system with a variety of applications all of which are made to work in the real world.
Our post signs are able to withstand the harshest of weather and the most rugged environments without tarnishing or losing their shape. Throughout the many years that the post sign will be in place, whether on a golf course or used to advertise estates, the sign will remain easy to read.
And given the fact that the signs are manufactured using the best known practices and the best materials, the signs require minimal maintenance and won’t need regular replacing.
Every sign our team creates is made according to the client’s exact specifications, right down to the shape, the sizes and even the most intricate of colours.

Can the signage section of the Halian be changed?
The composite metal section of the Halian which contains your images and details is very easily changed when required.
How does the MowOver system work?
The MowOver system is an added benefit of the Halian sign. The area of the sign that is visible above ground is separate to the area below ground. This is secured together with our unique MowOver system and ensures that greenkeepers/grounds staff can effortlessly remove the sign, cut the grass, and then just as easily replace it.
Why do I need a Halian sign?
You may enjoy painting and sanding every year for maintenance, but you have to remember that the effect of the weather on your normal signage post, under the ground will result in rotting. The system is designed and manufactured from PVCU and has a robust, NO ROT, NO RUST, LOW MAINTENANCE guarantee. There is no need to replace your signage yearly if you invest in the Halian system, longevity is a guarantee especially as we give our signs a specific 10 year UV protection warranty on the posts.
Can I get finance for my Halian system?
We have partnered up with a finance firm who will work directly with you in order to secure your finance. This will ensure that your system fits your budget and you have up to five years to pay.
Is it easy to install if I want to install it myself?
The Halian system is very easy to install and should you wish to do the installation yourself, we will provide you with guidelines on how to secure your sign correctly.
Does the Halian system come in various colours?
The system is available in rosewood, black, white, grey and oak. The signage section of your Halian will be a bespoke design, made specially to suit your brand.

Founder and CEO of the John Young Group, John has over thirty years of experience, starting from traditional roots as a signwriter, using a paintbrush, right through to being at the forefront of innovation with new products and a multi award winning team. John and Fiona make a formidable team with their two sons getting involved and gaining valuable knowledge along the way. John has a weakness for fast cars and loves a good Scotch Whisky after a game of golf on one of Scotlands world famous golf courses.

STUART DUNCAN
After being head-hunted straight from school, Stuart learnt his skills in Scotland’s capital, Edinburgh. Stuart is now one of the very rare remaining Master Hand Engravers in the country. His attention to detail stems from being born deaf and his focus and skill have resulted in his exquisite designs being sought after throughout the jewellery industry. The team are blessed to have someone of his skill on board. A true hustler at the snooker table, Stuart, his wife Jane and their beautiful daughter enjoy going for walks together and spending time gardening.

Accounts and Payroll Manager for the John Young Group for the past 9 years, Valerie’s career has spanned Retail, Purchasing and Supply and accounting for SME’s in various industries.
Her attention to detail and conscientiousness ensure that the financial aspects of the group run smoothly.
Valerie’s main passion is her Westies and she can often be found on the beautiful coastal path and beaches of Fife with her current two, Albert and Charlie.
